West Hills Helps Orphanage-November
Portland, OR
In November, as he was planning his trip to Cuernavaca for the Holidays, broker Ryan Mulkey (Portland-West Hills) decided he would do his part to help out the people who call that part of Mexico home. Ryan contacted an orphanage to find out what some of their needs were. He then sent a postcard to about 60 clients, family members, and friends. In a short time, he received almost $300 in donations, and enough clothing, school supplies, and toys to fill four suitcases.
With the help of his sister Mary, who works for Transnation Title, and his good friend Denisse Guadarrama, Ryan delivered the goods and cash to the kids at the orphanage. He got to meet several of the children who live there and play soccer with them.
“They were all great little kids!” says Ryan. “With some of the money donated, we walked to a little convenience store and grabbed some candy and chips for them, which was really fun.”
